TATE Conservation & Detection Dogs
Training and handling detection dogs has become the primary focus of the Tate business since 2015. On average our dogs and handlers are in the field 50% of the year. We are currently engaged to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (formerly OEH NSW) on 3 different major projects detecting Koalas, Invasive plants and Feral animals.
Our dogs have recently been used in two successful, large scale pest eradication programs and have several smaller ongoing projects finding threatened and invasive species.
We have detector dog teams ready for the following targets:
- Parthenium Weed, Alligator Weed, Orange Hawkweed, Mouse Ear Hawkweed, King Devil Hawkweed
- Rhizanthella slaterii
- Fox & Feral Cats
- Rabbits & Hares
- Wild dogs
- Cane toads
- Invasive Rodents
- Koala
- Eastern and Spotted Tail Quoll
- Broad toothed Rat
- Owls
- All deceased fauna (Aka Fauna strikes)
